Eat the Bone of a Goat Leg to be healed - hmmmm

So yeah this week was pretty good. I got to enjoy the presence of President Funk (Asia Area Presidency), President Mortensen, and Sister Burton, the general Relief Society President all attended our ward this Sunday. It was good because lots of people came and lots of our investigators attended so I am really happy about that. We also had zone training this week so we spent some good time with President Mortensen. My converts were confirmed this week which was nice. Elder Messay is adjusting but he is still a little picky with things. doesn't eat a lot of the foods, complains about walking, kinda still sits at the gym, but Sunday was his birthday! so we celebrated I got him a cake and we had these other two elders sleep over and play games!

That's unfortunate for your friend Mom I am really sorry. This week I got sick. I had a pretty bad cold the last few days so I was a little slow but we were able to still go out and make some visits which is good. I think I am going to hold back on the group email til next week (:

Nice picture from the date. Dawson got a lot of nice clothes it seems. he still seems very "clean" looking hahah. Sounds fun. So do you actually have this list of movies written down or is just made up in your heads.... im a little concerned. weather is getting hot here. I am missing you like crazy.

Sister Burton was in our ward for a Relief Society training.

Dad I wish you the best in your calling. I think you are going to be a lot more busy but that will strengthen you! I am super happy about the superbowl!

Attached is a picture of some stray dogs. you see this quite a bit here in the city. So many dogs...everywhere. I havent gone to film city because it is really far and really expensive. It is like half our allotment. So i will have to do some saving if I want to go. This week I was sick so a church worker told me the best thing was to go to a certain restaurant down the street and eat the bone of a goat leg. he was convinced this would heal me. Anyways love you so much

Taj Mahal of South India

Jan 29, 2017

mom
The family we were teaching is still progressing we are hoping to able to teach them and have their baptism this Sunday. these 9 months have gone by fast but lately I have felt like in Limbo, being in this same ward for so long makes me feel like it has been such a long time. that's crazy they split our ward again, kind of unfortunate because now there will be less people in our ward. Training the new Elder has been nice. We went to the Taj mahal of South India. its called 7 Tombs! It was nice to take the new guy for some fun. I can see he is a little stressed with mission life so I'm trying to mix fun and work with this guy.
This week has been fine!

Dad
Thats funny you havent been in the tub you are always hot tubbing. i really miss that and swimming. today we went and had a big arguement with a drunk auto guy. its crazy that we just normally get rides from drunk people but this guy was really the worst. He lied to us and was causing all sorts of trouble I just wanted to crumple up the money and throw it on the ground. That story about the mexican lady is crazy maybe she is just having some cultural rage after hearing donald trump is constructing the wall already, or maybe she is trying to get as much as she can than "legally" go back hahah. I hear Trump has done sooo many things in his first week. there are a few members that keep me up on the trump news. Indians are really fascinated by american politics.  The Lion sounds like a interesting movie. i can say this week was different with Indians. I found out that these people in their native languages don't have words for "please" "thank you" or "excuse me" maybe that's part of how the rudeness translates across. Anyways I thought the same thing you are going to lose some of your friends with this new ward.  Maybe they will reconsider because that ward size in puny.... love ya dad

Staying in Hyderabad

January 22, 2017

Turns out I'm staying here for the next 3 months. I am training a brand new missionary which is fun but a big...( stressful) responsibility. His name is Elder Messay pronounced Messi.

This week was immensely fun but a little sad. It was the final week with my buddy Elder Sundas. (the one that teaches me Hindi) Anyways we did some enjoying for his last time in Hyderabad like sight seeing, eating good food, and having some baptisms.

On Pday we went to Chowamahala Palace. This is where the old king used to reside I walked in expecting a huge throne but nope... even the king sits on the floor too. The place was pretty cool though, it showed a lot of how the British just came in and ran everything here in India.

Me and Elder Sundas also joked with Elder Messay his first day here. We woke him up for gym in the morning at 6 and it was really dark. The poor kid looked super tired and as we were walking down the black road we told him "Hey Elder I'm sorry but we actually woke you up early its 4am" I wish I could write how great his reaction was but I will say it wasn't the best surprise for him.

the last two weeks we have had 2 baptisms... awesome!. They are both brothers and know more about the Book of Mormon than most adult members here. They are really solid kids. I love to hear from you all!

That's about it for me. God Bless
